It takes effort and some patience to keep your toilet and bathroom area neat and clean. While it’s not something we all look forward to, it’s a chore we can’t escape. However, following a process and only treating one area at a time ensures that your cleaning efforts are efficient.
Follow these 10 steps to learn how to clean your bathroom effectively and efficiently:
Step 1 – Clean the bathroom
For more efficient cleaning, remove all objects from the bathroom. It is better to delete them all at once rather than randomly. Put all small items in storage boxes outside the bathroom and throw all used linens (including rugs) in the washing machine.
Step 2 – Dust and Sweep
Take out the duster and remove dust from all surfaces. Use a long-handled tool to reach corners, light fixtures, and vents. Sweep (or vacuum) the bathroom floor after dusting each surface to remove dust, crumbs, and hair.
Step 3 – Apply cleaner
Apply cleaner to bathroom surfaces. An all-purpose cleaner can be used if you clean regularly, but an acid cleaner is recommended if you need to remove tarnish from your tile. Let it soak.
Step 4 – Wipe
Apply detergent to a cloth or sponge and begin wiping down other surfaces such as shower rails, shelves, towel rails, baseboards, windows, blinds and doors. For efficiency, start at the top of the room and divide into sections from left to right.
Step 5 – Prepare the floor for cleaning
Follow the directions on the cleaner and mix the recommended amount in a bucket filled with warm water.
Step 6 – Scrub
Wipe away accumulated and loosened dirt from surfaces. At this point, the cleaners have already done most of the work for you, so the job will be easier. Be sure to reach all surfaces before rinsing.
Step 7 – Finish the shower area
Put back any items you removed from the shower and/or bath area and wipe them down with a clean cloth as you go. Spray glass cleaner on the shower door (if equipped) and wipe it down before closing it.
Step 8 – Makeup Area
Spray all-purpose cleaner on countertops, faucets, and sinks, then wipe with a clean cloth. Use a coarse sponge to loosen the buildup in the sink or soap dish and wipe clean. Use mirror cleaner.
Step 9 – Scrub the toilet
If you often scrub the inside of your toilet, use an all-purpose cleaner. If there is some buildup, use a toilet cleaner and scrub with a toilet brush. Spray the outside with an all-purpose cleaner and wipe clean with a cloth.
Step 10 – Mop
Dip the mop in the prepared cleaning solution, squeeze out the excess and start cleaning the bathroom floor. to dry. Once dry, place freshly washed carpets or rugs and replace trash cans.
